There are 78 days until the end of the year. What are you going to do with them?
The fourth quarter of the calendar year isn’t when we think about goals and goal setting. But it should be.
What do you want to remember having done with your 2018?
There’s still time.
What did you want to do 287 days ago when this year started?
There’s still time.
In athletics, the last bit is always the most exciting: the final lap, the last run, the 4th quarter, the 3rd period, the end of the second half.
That’s when the action happens.
This year could be the same for you.
It’s time to double down.
In hockey, they pull the goalkeeper to add another teammate to the offense. Whatever is equivalent to pulling the goalkeeper for what you’re doing— it’s time. Do it.
A lot can happen in 78 days. A little effort every day for 78 days will add up to big things.
How are you going to spend them? What will you do?
I’d love to hear. Comment below.
Thanks for this encouragement, Dan! Well, I still have a lot of things to do before the end of the year but, above all, I want to remember 2018 as the year I recovered from my eating disorder. So my main goal is to enter 2019 being weight restored. I’m super scared, but let’s go!
Wow. Way to go Paola! I’m inspired by your courage. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for this perspective Dan! It’s great to be reminded that everyday is a new opportunity and you can start / restart anytime. Came across this article a bit late though I think the same principle applies – even if it’s not New Years and January is over, you can still set goals and achieve them, there’s still so much time left 🙂
